September 27, 2025 — Bethesda, MD
ATA-DC members, friends, and supporters gathered for a lively and heartfelt evening at Chef Aynur and Mustafa Özdemir’s home in Bethesda to raise funds for the 2025 Turkish Festival. Despite a touch of rain, the night radiated warmth, laughter, and community spirit as guests enjoyed freshly grilled Turkish dishes, nostalgic tunes, and spirited conversations that lasted well into the evening.
The event’s theme, Street Eats & Beats, celebrated the vibrancy of Turkish street food culture with a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. The aromas of sizzling kokoreç and other traditional favorites filled the air as the band Seksenrock performed beloved Turkish hits, setting the perfect rhythm for a night of celebration. More than sixty guests shared stories and memories under tents and umbrellas, proving that not even the weather could dampen ATA-DC’s energy and togetherness.
ATA-DC extends its deepest thanks to Chef Aynur, the Özdemir family, and the many volunteers who made this special night possible. As beautifully captured in the Community News section of the ATANews magazine, events like Street Eats & Beats embody the essence of ATA-DC—where food, music, and friendship unite to keep culture alive, one smile and one delicious bite at a time.
