CENTENNIAL REPUBLIC DAY BALL
WE CELEBRATED THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKIYE
On October 29, 2023 ATA-DC hosted a Centennial Turkish Republic Day Ball to honor the legacy of Atatürk and the nation’s journey to the present day. The 100th anniversary grand ball took place at the historical and glorious Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, DC. The program started with a reception, then proceed dinner at the grand ballroom.

October 29, 2023 marks a century since the founding of the Republic of Türkiye following the Turkish War of Independence, which was led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on October 29, 1923 marked a pivotal moment in Turkish history, as it signaled the end of the Ottoman Empire and the beginning of a new era of modernization and secularization in Türkiye. Atatürk, the Republic’s founding father, implemented a series of reforms aimed at transforming Türkiye into a modern, democratic, and secular nation-state.
This year, we would like to have a memorable celebration with greater participation from the Turkish-American Associations and our community members. Therefore we are extending the honor of being a part of this milestone anniversary by being a sponsor.
