ATA-DC hosted a Turkish Republic Day Ball honoring the legacy of Atatürk and the nation’s journey to the present day.
The 102nd anniversary grand ball took place at the Washington Plaza Hotel on Saturday, November 1, 2025 5:30 PM – 11:30PM EDT.
The Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on October 29, 1923 marked a pivotal moment in Turkish history. This year, as we celebrated this landmark milestone for the Turkish Republic, we looked forward to a memorable Republic Ball with greater participation from the Turkish-American Associations and our community members.
October 29, 2023 marks a century since the founding of the Republic of Türkiye following the Turkish War of Independence, which was led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on October 29, 1923 marked a pivotal moment in Turkish history, as it signaled the end of the Ottoman Empire and the beginning of a new era of modernization and secularization in Türkiye. Atatürk, the Republic’s founding father, implemented a series of reforms aimed at transforming Türkiye into a modern, democratic, and secular nation-state.
