The ATA-DC Atatürk School has been teaching the Turkish language and culture to children since 1980.
Our Mission

The Atatürk School for Children was established in the 1980s and is managed by the American-Turkish Association of Washington DC, a 501c, tax exempt, non-profit cultural organization. The goal of the school is to provide Turkish language and culture classes for Turkish-American children so that they may retain important aspects of Turkish culture while growing up in the United States. Children learn in a fun, yet structured, environment. Light homework is assigned to reinforce classroom teachings. In addition to learning about Turkiye and the Turkish language, children are able to socialize with other Turkish-American children and further develop their language skills. No religious instruction is provided at our school.
